Kitchen & Laundry Technician – Western Hotel Ghayathi

Western Hotel Ghayathi is seeking a skilled and reliable Kitchen & Laundry Technician to join our Engineering team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and efficiency of all kitchen and laundry equipment within the hotel. As a Kitchen & Laundry Technician, you will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of commercial appliances, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently while coordinating with the Engineering and Operations teams. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, laundry washers, dryers, steamers, and other essential machinery. This position requires strong problem‑solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and operational standards. Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all kitchen and laundry equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
• Ensure proper functioning of ovens, chillers, freezers, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and steam equipment
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and service requests
• Coordinate with external contractors when required
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and operational standards
• Assist the Engineering team with general maintenance tasks when needed
• Monitor spare parts inventory and report requirements to the supervisor

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Kitchen & Laundry Technician in a hotel or similar environment
• Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment
• Ability to read technical manuals and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues
• Understanding of safety procedures and preventive maintenance practices
• Physically fit and able to handle equipment repairs
• Positive attitude, teamwork spirit, and strong work ethic
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Technical certification or diploma is an advantage
