We are hiring motivated Commis Waiters to join the pre‑opening front‑of‑house team for a licensed standalone venue in Dubai. Key purpose of the role
- Support efficient table service by running dishes, clearing covers and maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Assist wait staff and supervisors to ensure timing, order accuracy and guest satisfaction.
- Learn service protocols, menu details and beverage pairings through on‑the‑job coaching and practical assessments.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Prepare and set up service stations each shift ensuring condiments, cutlery, glassware and menus are correctly presented.
- Run food and beverage items between kitchen and floor accurately and promptly; check orders against tickets to avoid mistakes.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently during and after service, ensuring clean tableware and polished cutlery.
- Support mise en place tasks including portioning garnishes, preparing side plates and replenishing service stations.
- Assist with simple food assembly or plating during peak periods under chef supervision.
- Manage tray handling and safe carriage of multiple items while maintaining professional posture and guest awareness.
- Respond to guest requests courteously and escalate special requirements, allergens or complaints to supervisors immediately.
- Monitor floor presentation and assist with light cleaning duties to keep public areas inviting.
- Help with basic stock rotation for service items; report shortages and damaged stock to supervisors.
- Participate in pre‑opening rehearsals, daily briefings and shift handovers; apply feedback from coaching sessions.
- Follow hygiene, food safety and PPE requirements at all times; complete cleaning rotas and closing checklists as instructed.
- Support POS operations and assist with simple bill checks when required.
Candidate requirements
- 6 months to 2 years’ experience in cafés, casual dining or restaurant front‑of‑house roles preferred.
- Professional presentation, friendly manner and a genuine service orientation.
- Basic knowledge of table service etiquette, tray handling and guest interactions.
- Good communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous.
- Able to follow instructions, accept feedback constructively and show a desire to learn.
- Physically able to stand for long periods, carry trays and lift moderate weights safely.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and public holidays; willingness to attend pre‑opening training.
- Valid UAE work eligibility and readiness to provide references where requested.
