Bartender Job Post — Kapitol Dubai by Sunset Hospitality

Kapitol Dubai is recruiting an experienced, creative, and guest‑focused Bartender to join our pre‑opening team. This is a rare opportunity to shape the beverage program and service culture at Dubai’s newest social gaming and lifestyle destination. As part of Sunset Hospitality’s pre‑opening crew you will help develop menus, train the bar team, and deliver memorable drink experiences during soft openings and VIP events. We seek a bartender who combines technical mixology skills with strong guest engagement, speed under pressure, and a collaborative spirit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve beverages to Kapitol standards including classic cocktails, signature creations, mocktails, and specialty pours.
  • Develop and refine the beverage menu in collaboration with the Bar Manager and culinary team; contribute ideas for seasonal and promotional concepts.
  • Maintain bar mise en place: stock levels, garnishes, glassware, and cleanliness; ensure the bar is service‑ready at all times.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service: recommend drinks, explain menu items, and create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.
  • Train and mentor barbacks and junior staff on speed, presentation, portion control, and service flow during pre‑opening and ongoing operations.
  • Manage cash handling and POS transactions accurately and follow end‑of‑shift reconciliation procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with responsible service and age verification policies; uphold food safety and alcohol handling standards.
  • Support events and private functions with tailored beverage service, efficient bar setups, and coordinated staffing.
  • Participate in pre‑opening setup including equipment testing, bar layout planning, and trial shifts to refine operational workflows.
  • Assist with inventory control: receive deliveries, rotate stock, and conduct regular counts to minimize waste and control costs.

Requirements

  • Proven bartending experience in high‑volume, upscale, or concept‑driven venues.
  • Strong mixology knowledge including spirits, liqueurs, beer, wine, and contemporary cocktail techniques.
  • Experience in menu development or cocktail creation is highly desirable.
  • Excellent speed and accuracy under pressure with strong multitasking ability.
  • Cash handling and POS proficiency with attention to reconciliation and loss prevention.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Food safety and alcohol service certification preferred.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Valid UAE work authorization or clear visa status; include visa details in your application.
  • Team player mentality with a proactive approach to training and continuous improvement.
